My university allows a max tank size of 5 gallons so this is my current divided set up. Before the screaming betta-owners show up, I will state this. This set up was an experiment with dividing a tank myself. I have a 10 gallon at home that I plan to divide in 3 for my bettas at the end of April. Although 2.5 gallons is a LOT more than most betta's get, I've seen a lot of people snap at those who post about divided 5 gallon set up stating that its too small.
He's still un-named. I think He'll remain un named for a few weeks until I get a feel for his personality.
***A note on the divider:
I had to double-up the mesh so that the VT couldn't see the CT. The VT was freaking out and flaring constantly through the single-divider as he could see the colouring and outline of the CT. Doubled up the mesh and haven't seen the VT flare at all at the CT/Divider.
**EDIT** For those wondering, the mesh circle at the front of the divider in the last picture is a make-shift feeding loop I made. The surface moves quite a bit and the food was moving too quickly for my VT to catch it. The feeding loop keeps the food in one place... Just have to train my Bettas to go there at feeding time.
