Hi Guys, Got myself a new Beta yesterday he is fab - had a wonderful sky blue tail really long.... put him in my tank got up this morning he has been savaged..... the tail is not long anymore looks like some one has taken the sissors to it.... I cant understand why though???!!!! I've had a Betta in the tank for 9 months & the last one unfortunatly died (he had an accident with a gravel cleaner & never got over the stress) I have put new betta in a tank on his own & he seems quite happy but Im really really worried. I cant understand why other fish have done this, ive only got Mollies, platties & neons in there & they were totally fine with my last one... Can anyone help... im really worried about him, ooh & does anyone know if his tail will grow back??

Thanks Alex

Im sorry to say but neon tetras are quite notorious for nipping bettas fins like other tetras, move him out of the tank ASAP and into his own tank(anything between a 2 and 5gal will be good) and treat him with some aquarium salt or Melafix to help aid the healing of his wounds and help prevent secondary infection from setting in.

I gave him a salt bath as soon as I got to him this morning & transfered him to a new tank I got last week it was only ready on friday to add fish to. Will his tail grow back????
