Just a quick note on here, I have posted a topic on the betta section with photos attached. I have just brought a new betta and he had killed one of the neons. He seems to bully the 3 platies I have aswell. Should I be worried and take him back to the LFS. Any advice would be great. Cheers

Bettas are individuals. Some are more docile than others. Yours seems to be on the hyperaggressive side of the spectrum. I would suggest you either return it or put it into a tank by itself.

He is very very aggressive, Ive seperated him in a decided untill tomorrow when he is going back. I'll get a couple of fancy guppies instead.

What size is the tank, and how long has it been running?

The tank is 30L and its been running for about 4months, 3 of those being cycled and 1 month being stocked. I put the neons in first, then the platies then the betta. I put the betta in last so he felt he was going into someone else's yard so to speak and not get territorial.

Good thought process, but apparently he didn't subscribe to that.

I rang the LFS. And I'm going to take him back tomorrow and get another centerpiece fish, maybe a dwarf gourami.

I recommend a honey gourami... they are a little hardier than many of the others.

Just taken the siamese back and got a beautifal dwarf gourami, its a flame red one with neon blue fins. Stunning. :)

This is my new Flame Dwarf Gourami. So far things look good. One platy seems to be bullying some what, but im sure is just trying to establish who's boss. It doesnt look anything nasty just testing eachother.
