Wonderful Pic Mic, and he is a darling.

Ps
The fish is too :p

JESUS!!!!

thats awsome :drools:

Well, I guess I did something wrong, he didn't make the night. Water and filtration was established, temp was 81, and ph was matched. The shock must have been too much. He was fine at 3am, but by nine he was stiff.

Sorry little guy.

I'll definitely try it again, as soon as I know what exactly I did wrong.
Stress is a biatch. Sorry man.

We Lost a magnum pleco the same way within 12 hours of getting him home. Just couldn't take the stress of the journey home.

it is a 25 gallon grow out. I am consoled with a jardini arowana...I'll post pics in a new thread later.

How long did you aclimatise the ray for before introducing it to the tank? With rays you should always introduce them to their new water as slowly as you possibly can even if the water tests are all identical, i spent 10 hours acclimatising my ray which came from a store just over a mile away. The best way to do this is with the drip method , place the ray in a poly box and have a length of airline leading from the tank to the box, start a syphon in the airline and tie a loose knot in the end that is not in the tank, then tighten the knot so that the water drips out at about one drop per second. Leave the water dripping into the box containing the ray for as long as you can, removing excess water before it floods over the carpet.

I didn't climatize him for ten hours, thats for sure. Maybe 2 hours, but thats the max it took. I will have to get some tips from you next time around, my plans still haven't changed for the 180 arowana/ray tank... just on hold right now :>
