they were born 12-20-2011 (yesterday) around 3:30 pm lost alot but have 5 that are still alive. jut wonderin what they need as babies like water temp and stuff... any help?
Regular feeding (2 or 3 times per day), and daily water changes. Keep the temperature the same. And somewhere to get shot of them to. Your next batch of fry is due in about 4-6 weeks. If you have 5 fry survive then, and another 5 in another 4-6 weeks, you will soon be very overstocked.
If you don't already you have them in a floating trap I recommend you put them in it so you can increase their chances of survival. You can feed your regular food as thelockman said just crush it with your hands so they can eat it (fit it in their mouths)
Also I recommend water changes, not only food but good water quality helps them grow much faster I find.
ok thank u!!! how long do u guys think it will be til they can move out of the "nursery" tank? and to homes? i luckily have homes already lined up for my little guys...
It really depends what other fish are going to be were their homes will be, My rule of thumb and others is that the fish should a little bigger than the other fishes mouths in the tank, normally it can take 2-3 months to get to that size.
