New Arc Tank

Has anyone seen the new Arcadia Arc tank?, I was looking at the 20L one for my desk, it comes with the Arc pod 15w lamp and a suitable filer for about £35 according to Arcadias Customer services.

The 9w light should give 1.7 WPG of lighting, but with all the talk of smaller aquariums needing higer lighting, will this be enough???>

I was thinking of setting it up with DIY Co2, and flourite substrate.

Neither 9w or 15w is going to be high light over a tank of just 20lt. If it were me Id get the 15w then you've got a bit more to play with.

I think Arc Pod lights are either 9w or 11w, not 15w. Don't mean to nitpick + not much diff I know, but when you double them you are talking 22w max instead of 30w in your calculations which is ~2/3rds.

Personally I am going to measure if you can fit 3x 11w side by side!

I am also looking into blocking the little gaps between the cover glass and tank, i.e. nano-fish/shrimp escape paths with clear acrylic rods.

It looks identical to the PFK giveaway tank except with better lighting via the ArcPod.

Sorry got it wrong options are 9w with the 20l or 11w with the 40l. If I get 1 extra 9w (matching arc pod for asthetics) that gives 3.39 wpg.

How will that do?.

Any suggestions for plants to go with the following 6 Red Phantom/Jewel tetra ( Hyphessobrycon eques) from home (18cm of fish max), some mopani wood (Hopefully covered in that cool moss I've seen Frissen???)with the red flourite substrate and DIY co2, I want a carpet of some kind but low maint as I don't want to be stuck late in the office everynight faffing about

Carpets of plants are tricky in low light tanks, your best bet is a moss of some kind, like java moss, spread over the substrate either directly onto it or on flat stones. Then you just give it a hair cut when it needs it.

Ive got one its float glass so it be hard to drill there nice little tanks I got one with a betta in you would be able at add another arc pod there is room the cover glass has to sit about an inch from the back because of the bracket holding the lamp so you would have to use some acrylic sheet and make one to cut round it. the only thing i dont like is the filters are crap and the lights are pink!

It was me thats going to use 2 arcpods over the 35Ltr version BUT it is going to be a non CO2 low light slow growing setup with no water changes.

Is the bottom glass also float glass? I know how to cut glass but don't want to blow my money on a tank with tempered glass as I need to cut holes.

Yeah its glass with a plastic rim (brace) and feet siliconed to the edge of it to hide the joins I think the cover glass is box standard picture frame glass I chiped mine washing it in the sink. overall its a solid tank you can lift it up full and move it wich is handy if you like to swap your room about I think also you could remove the top corner braces with a knife that hold the cover glass if you wanted a more of an open look it would look good with the front being beveld
