Hi I have just bought a Marina 160 ltr Tank and set it up 3 days ago. It has external filtration . I have got 3 live plants in the tank. all the gravel and ornaments were thoroughly washed before hand. The 2nd day the tank was full of bubbles and the filters all working well and water was starting to clear. Today ( 3rd Day ) have woken up to find the tank is very cloudy and milky. Am leaving it for a week before my fish go in , but can anyone help as to why the water has gone so cloudy please ???

It has probably gone cloudy because of a beneficial bacteria bloom. You need to research cycling, as this adding fish after a week thing is just a pet shop scam, it's meaningless. Don't worry, I was tricked into the same thing!

Yep, agree with all of the above. Cycled my first tank about 3 or 4 months ago and I had the same. I freaked a bit and got a filtration-aid chemical. Realise now it was bacterial bloom and it cleared.

And another yes to above, don't fall into the trap of, "add the fish in about a week." Read up on fishless cycling, prepare not to add fish for a few weeks, but have fun learning about the nitrogen cycle and water chemistry and then have a tank that is a proper ecosystem in which the fish you put in eventually will survive to reach old age.

Don't be tempted by fish-in cycling just to get fish in there. It's harder.

Good luck.
