hi im setting up a new 20 gallon tank (4th tank in all becoming an addiction i think) my guppies are producing some great fry, keeping the best selling the rest to the lfs. im gonna keep various corys and an giant african filter shrimp with it. anyone have any suggestions for small nice fish, not sure whether i want a small group of tiny fish (tetras ect) or one or two2-3 inch fish. any suggestions guys?

if you want a couple of 2 or 3 inch fish you could go with dwarf gouramis and as for tetras the list is endless, i would say that the most commonly kept would be neon tetras but there are loads to choose form
i personally would go with danios

didnt really want tetras especially neons, danios are good as they are more top dwelling, hmm gouramis never really thought of them ,bit boring maybe but then i doubt theres gonna be really stricking fish to put in such a tank as mine.

also debating wood or rocks as a central point or maybe minimal, hmmm its a thinker

have you looked into Rams? Something I never considered when stocking my tank, but I like them.

I'm more of bottom dweller fan...love cories and botia. I think botia can be very beautiful.

i would go for... some danios OR a dwarf gourami :) cute lil guys

You want striking? Go for a pair of pearl gouramies (to 5", would appreciate plants and especialy floating ones)... Look at these: http://www.aqualandpetsplus.com/Gourami,%20Pearl.htm
and these (from the same site): http://www.aqualandpetsplus.com/Gourami,%20Pearl%20More.htm
and especialy these lovely pictures taken by a member of this forum: http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=95724
You have to admit that these are beautiful (and they have character as well).

Depeding on just how many cories you are planning on putting in, a small school of some kind of small, peaceful, non-nippy schooling fish (6 harlequin rasboras would be good) would also make a nice addition.

im thinking two dwarf gouramis for a twenty yeah, cant really get a female aswell can i

really you should have 2 females and one male. I think if you have enough hiding spaces (heavily planted for example) then you can probably have one male and one female.

right twenty gallon with 5 corries about 5 guppies an giant african filter shrimp confirmed, one male dwarf gourami and what other fish should i get ,about the same size as the gourami , peaceful fish does ok on its own suggestions please
