Hey all,
I'm new to this site. But I've already found some really helpful stuff. I've had goldfish and tropicals in the past. ( a very bad first timer with a lot of mistakes :/ ) But I've been fishless for awhile because of moving, now I'm ready to restart my hobby! And restart it right!
Thank you all in advance for the help I'll definetly need!!!

Me again, but with a little different name. I made a mistake on my email and had to fix it by starting anew...(. I hate that...) Anyways...I thought I'd let you all know!

Hello one among many, I'm new to the forum too.

I had a tank before, a large one with goldfish, I made every mistake I could and lost the lot. That was a couple of years ago and now I'm ready to try again with a smaller tank, lots of advice and research and more patience.

What kind of tank are you thinking of starting?

:D

Hello to both of you and welcome to the forums. :hi:

Probably the most important thing to do to do it right is a fishless cycle. You will avoid a lot of headaches and life will be much easier for you and your fish. Good luck.

Hey,
Thanks for the welcome rdd1952 and beanie.law! I've been reading up on the fishless cycle. Sounds alot better and faster then the "plant" and "fish" cycles I had done before. I'm looking for a 30 gallon to start a tropical community tank. I'm still researching the types of fish I'd like and what speicies would do well together.
I've had my ten gallon for a long time now. It was my first tank with goldfish and I tried tropicals in it once. I was very green and even though my fish lived a couple years I know now that they didn't live the best care possible. In the ten gallon now are 2 growing shubunkins for my pond. They were too small to put in at this size because of the pet goose I have. He would love to gobble down those 1inch appitizers!
Once I get the 30 gallon I may have to put my growing goldies in first! If they grow to large before spring!
I'm ready to do things better then before!

if ya going tropical, once ya set and ready to go danios are quite good starter fish, i quite to fishkeepin meself but found danios to b quite hardy fish and very lively. but other than that i not sure also depends wot way ya want to go, wether ya want few big fish, an aggressive tank with cichlids and the likes or livebearers in the past week or so i been coming here i noticed how mnay different avenues their are to types of fish comunities and tank types to (i.e. plants/non plants) but hope ya bit less accident prone with this lot and hope i was some help.
