New And Need Help!

Hi there,

Bit new to tropical fish keeping (matter of months) and already I'm having problems. The tank (2ftby1ft) is filling up with black furry algae? I clean it out regularly and have tried lessening the hours of light and feeding them less etc. Anyone got any ideas on where I'm going wrong?

Hiya,

There are three guppies and five tetras and it is planted. I'm afraid I don't know any of the levels - I'm going to get a kit to test them).
