Ok...I had a male fancy guppy and then got a male lyretail molly thinking they would be ok in my 5g tank. But someone tells me that they'd each need a couple of females to get along. That seems like a lot of fish for a small tank.I guess my question is,do they need the females right away?If there are going to be that many fish(not to mention fry) they'll probably end up moving to my 10g.But that can't happen until I make room for a 55g or so for my cold water fish.

Clearly,I've made some mistakes getting started in fishkeeping. So I wonder what the best short term course of action is? Any suggestions will be welcome.

Thanks,

Koda

As far as I know they're ok if you have males only. Its when you add females that the problems start. If you do add females make sure the famales outnumber the males 3:2 - that should keep the r*ndy monkeys happy...
