So I went to petsmart on a whim..at 7 pm no less and went to go check out their gourami selection. I have been researching the German Blue Ram for a while now and was planning to order one in the next couple weeks. After continuing to read though I was a bit concerned that maybe the German Blue was a bit too sensitive..so thats why I going and considering the gouramis. After looking through a bit and getting ready to leave something caught my eye..it was a Bolivian Ram!! I had been asking all my pet stores if they had Rams and if they could order them and I heard no from all but 2, but here it was. It is so cute...and I was so excited to see a Ram in person instead of just seeing it on the internet. And on top of that he (I think) was only 4 dollars! looks to be in good condition..he's very curious x), and has a warrenty =D which makes me very happy because being as the Rams are sensitive I was worried about spending 10 bucks with no guarentee. Just so happy ^.^ I really hope he adjusts well and does good in my tank =D

He was put in a little bit ago and is currently exploring the tank..is this good? I would think if he was having problems he would be in a corner or hiding.. I don't think I'm going to try and feed until tomorrow night..although he was poking at a food thing in the tank at the store.

I'm just excited and wanted to share my odd but awesome discovery..I've been waiting for this fish for around a month now

I think I'm pretty well set up for him..as I was getting ready for a German Blue..but if there is anything else besides water quality and habitat that I need to do special for him please let me know! Also does anyone else have a Bolivian? what did you feed them to start off?..I have tropical flake food but not cichlid pellets or flakes..and not sure if I should do flake/pellet or frozen food to start off. I know some Rams can be really picky eaters or just not eat at first..(knock on wood)

Thanks! :hyper:

SOunds like he's settling in fine.

As for feeding, he should eat most things, although they are all individuals with their own preferences. Flake, pellets, frozen, it's all good. The more variety you can give it the better.

Well I was trying to put up a picture but I can't really figure it out...lol but heres a link to it
