Hello everyone i am new to the forum, and i was looking for some advice on some fish that would do well in this tank. I plan on getting either a Gold or Green Severum, its the other fish that i am having problems choosing.

Was thinking about adding a red tail shark, maybe some Rainbowfish some cory cats or a Pictus cat and some sort of pleco (something that stays under 8 inches). would like to stay away from Silver Dollars.

It's been about 10 years since i have kept fish. I have mainly had Cichlids(green terrors, Oscars, Jack dempsy's), so i am kinda looking for something alittle bit on the calm side. :)
thanks in advance for any information.

IME, geophagus, pictus cats, synos, and even giant danios do well with severums. You really shouldn't have many problems with your choices as long as the sev can't eat them or be eaten by them :)

Youc could have
1 sev
6 rainbows (3-4" at least
3 pictus cats/or3-6 cories
1 red tail black shark (only if you don't get cories)
1 Bristlenose plec (or another small plec)

^^^Still room for more IMO

Look into a Blue Acara also. You can see from my sig that I have a Gold Severum and plan on getting an Acara. They are both fairly peaceful Cichilds, but you should probably keep one of each, because they seem to show aggression if you have pairs of them. Acaras grow to about the same size as Severums, and their also beautiful.

Also Pictus cats are awesome, but they need at least 3 of them together and you definitely have the room for a few. Of course a bunch of cories are always cool too. Youre choice I guess. Good luck! :good:
