Woohoo, I finally got a new tank for Aristotle! It doesn't seem like Marie Antoinette is going to start any trouble now that there's more room, so she gets to live in it as well... as long as she behaves herself, anyway :D

I was going to buy a background for it today, but then I noticed that the fish are actually looking out the window behind the tank! Heaven forbid I deprive them of their entertainment, lol.

Edit: Incase some of you remember him and are wondering, Eligos the senegal bichir is in the 29 gallon, which has been moved to my bedroom :)

Circe the cat included for scale ;)

Obviously it's still a little cloudy from the sand

The little booger who is probably going to destroy all my plants and ruin my pretty hill of sand :sly:

Haha, I just noticed the snail trails in the sand at the bottom of a couple of the pics :p

hmmm, I'm not sure about the height of sand. I was recommended no more than 2 inches. But I've also been told toxic gases build up anyway and so the sand should be prodded every now and tehn to loosen it and get some water into it.

I think it looks great by the way. I would have LOADS more plants though.

That's what I heard; that toxic gasses can potentially build up no matter how high your sand is. If I had no more than 2 inches you wouldn't even be able to see it, it'd all be under the trim at the bottom of the tank, lol. As long as you prod it around on occasion to release said gasses before they build up an enormous pocket it's ok, though. Knowing Marie Antoinette, she'll take care of moving the sand around for me

Believe me, I'd love to have more plants, but Marie will probably destroy most of the ones I already have in there :p. I do intend to add some more rocks, though.
I tried to pick some strong plants with thick leaves to withstand her assaults, but we'll see how it goes. She's already in the process of burying the one on the far right...

Yay, it's all cleared up now :)
