Thanks to George who I met the other day (top bloke and lovely tank!! ) I now have a little 5g on my desk at work. Idea is to create a shrimp heaven for Red Cherries (if I can find any in the UK!).

Just a wee bit panicked by ken and houndor's experiences with algae in small tanks so I am going to take this very slowly. Anyway so far so good and here's the first pic:

Going to try to source some slow growing java moss to go with the fern and possibly some anubias. Again thanks George!!

Looks good Simon - I'm glad its gone to a good home. What tube are you running or is that the Triton I gave you? Did it fit ok, or are you going open tank? Plumbed in the CO2 yet are are you using it on your Trigon?

BTW The sag looks massive in there! Mine is going mental! I'm about to e-mail my LFS to see if they want to buy some as a regular occurance.

yay another 5 gallon person :D

I think half of my fault was putting plants from a bga infected tank into the 5 gallon. oops. So don't panic too much.

Aside from the algae the biggest problem I have is the heat from the t5 light I have. Let us know what light you are using?

Tank looks awesome. I wish I could set a tank up here at work, but that wouldn't go over well.

I've got a little 5er in my backroom that I've been thinking of setting up and having a go with a betta. I have a perfect spot for it on my desk at home. I wonder what my other options for the tank are...

gfs new algae article should be very handy................ :D

Sorry could'nt resist, looks good, i like the piece of wood

I bought a 15" Freshwater tube to light it as I'm hoping for slow but steady growth rather than full-on. The tank hasn't got a hood fitted as it's so small I like the idea of viewing from the top as well :) so I've just got the tube clipped into a reflector and resting on 2 clear acrylic strips (formed to clip over the tank so safe!), I quite like the open aspect as I really am a fan of overhead luminaries but this is doing it for peanuts :D! George I put the extra Nutrafin on my Trigon to see if my ongoing battle with BBA could be tipped in my favour but am hoping that Tiggs will sell me his pressurized setup so we'll see :fingerscrossed:!
