1 Honey Gourami
4 Black Mollies
4 Bumblebee Platies
4 Zebra Danios
4 Panda Cories

Would the 55GAL be fully stocked?

Can I add 4 more Swordtails?

Any suggestions?

I’d do a little research on GH requirements of the fish , mollys and platies are hardwater fish iv even heard stories of them living in brackish water , the other fish are soft to middling water , the amount of fish seems fine the mixture of fish could be better , do you have a GH reading on your tank ?

Ok thank you for this bit of information. How much stocking room would I have left?

1 Golden Wonder Killifish
1 Honey Gourami
4 Black Mollies
4 Bumblebee Platies
4 Swordtails
4 Zebra Danios
8 Panda Cories

Get rid of all the other fish and just have the Golden Wonder Killifish , but that's just me. I have somewhere around 80 to 100 of them. They're awesome !

I would ditch the mollies, swordtails and platies (if you have softwater) and ADD 5 danios and cories. Then one more more GW killifish and another honey gourami

Of course it's your aquarium and you know what you really want but I see that you seem to like livebearers. The 55 gallon size , in my opinion , is very well suited to Swordtails because I think they do better with a little more swimming room. A tank that size full of Swordtails , Platies , Mollies and Guppies along with a solitary specimen fish would be nice. For the single fish maybe a Paradise Fish instead of a Gourami just because they're something of a loner anyway. The Golden Wonder will eat any Livebearer fry that appear and they blend in with your other fish negating that show piece fish effect you might be looking for. As far as numbers go, maybe about thirty fish. But whichever way you go , isn't it fun stocking up a new aquarium ? You're lucky.

Yes. If you like live bearers then by all means do them... But most require medium-hard water so I would look into that to see if they are compatible with your water source

Just one more thing. Swordtails and some Mollies can get pretty big and that 55 will be nice in that regard. You should see a great big Mollie, especially the Sailfins , they are awesome fish.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

What are the tank dimensions (length x width x height)?

What is the GH (general hardness), KH (carbonate hardness) and pH of your water supply?
This information can usually be obtained from your water supply company's website or by telephoning them. If they can't help you, take a glass full of tap water to the local pet shop and get them to test it for you. Write the results down (in numbers) when they do the tests. And ask them what the results are in (eg: ppm, dGH, or something else).

Depending on what the GH of your water is, will determine what fish you should keep.

Angelfish, most tetras, barbs, Bettas, gouramis, rasbora, Corydoras and small species of suckermouth catfish all occur in soft water (GH below 150ppm) and a pH below 7.0.

Livebearers (guppies, platies, swordtails, mollies), rainbowfish and goldfish occur in medium hard water with a GH around 200-250ppm and a pH above 7.0.

If you have very hard water (GH above 300ppm) then look at African Rift Lake cichlids, or use distilled or reverse osmosis water to reduce the GH and keep fishes from softer water.
