New 55 Gallon!

I finally set up my 55 gallon Oddball tank. My Ropefish is going to be put in here shortly, but I'm waiting for it to get totally cycled out. The hardy little Black Tetras are doing that right now. I add some "juice" from my already cultured tanks into this one. Here it is:

These etras will be removed an put back in their real home when ready. I will have anther Ropefish in here along with mine. I hant decided on the rest of my inhabitants.

EDIT: I will also be adding more driftwood in the bare spots

have you placed that pie of slate carefully or is it just all piled up? I'm wondering how to decorate my new tank!

i read in a book that rope fish don't do to well together?

I did orginize the rocks so that the Ropes would have a nice cave complex. I'm almost a 100% sure that two Roepfish will be fine in there. I beleive in large groups they can get agressive, but with the rocks and wood, I think they shoud be fine.

The ropefish will love it Is that sand or gravel? It doesn't matter for the rope but I can't tell

It's a fine gravel, almost like a sand. I prefer it over sand because it is so easy matinece and gives the fish a burrowing opertunity. It very soft like sand also. B)

I couldn't tell, the light makes it seem so bright and fuzzy Cool

I have no idea what to put in this tank besides my Ropefish. Any suggestions, Dwarfs?

My ropefish likes my senegal bichirs to be around, although I don't know why ABFs, medium sized NW cichlids, medium sized catfish (pictus), purple spotted gudgeons (If you can find them), african brown knives (only get 8 inches), elephant noses, leopard ctenopoma, medium sized gouramis (5-8 inches), and maybe loaches, like horseheads would be ok with a ropefish, although some may not be ok with each other

Thanks for the comments! I think I will get a pair of Gold Servums, along with my Ropefis and go from there.

nice tank, i have the same one i think, good choice on teh severums, make sure that one isnt extremely larger than the other, otherwise u may have some agression problems
