First, what sort of readings have you got for your water? Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite etc.
What you might want to do first is get half a dozen danios as these act as 'tester' fish, to make sure the water is fine. Danios can take a wide range of temperatures, and are quite hardy fish which is why they are good for this.
If they survive a week you could get some more fish. Make sure they are all compatable. For example most mollies, platies, guppies, tetras and danios will all live together happily as long as you don't have fin nipppers with long finned danios, for example.
After around 6-8 weeks you could get a bottom feeder such as cories or a bristlenose, as they are great for algae and excess food.
