well i've got yet another tank
its going to be a holding while while i do my reshuffle on the other tanks what do ya think

measurements are 48x15x15, think its about 37 uk gals

looks well nice what are you going to dunk in it? thats the same size as mine I think it works out to be about 28 uk gallons and 35 us galons.

not sure though I may be wrong.

whats the formula to work out tank sizes???

got two small tanks in the attic whould like to know how many gallons it holds!!

you have to turn all the dimensions into metric sizes to get litres and then convert the litres to gallons.

I cant remember the formula though, but you work out volume by width x height x length

in cm to work out volume in litres it is lenghtxwidthxdepth then divide that by 1000. because 1 cm cubed is the same as 1 ml of water.

so a tank 60cmx30cmx30cm = 54000 divide that by 1000 = 54litres

don't have a clue lol i use the convertors on PKF website to convert from litres to gallons or work out whole tank sizes.

To work out the gallonage, you do ths lxbxh in inches and divide by 231.

I work out litres, then divide by 4.5 for UK gallons or 3.9 for US

so 37.5 Uk gallons or 43 US gallons ( i thnk )

yeah i got it as 37 uk gals, but i cheat & use tank master lol
not sure what i'm going to put in it yet but for now its going to be used to hold the fish from my other tanks so i can swop them all round, cos putting my cichlids in the corner tank so they have more room

A UK Gallon is exactly 4.545 Litres.

The tank is 38.94545 UK gallons, or 46.7734855 US Gallons.

and if you ever want to know:

U.S. gallons x 0.833 = Imperial gallons
Imperial gallons x 1.201 = U.S. gallons

nice tank as well. Can i ask what you got it sitting on? I just got a 48Lx15W tank (18 high) and need something to plonk it on. Am thinking of just splurging on a stand by Juwel or someone made for one of their 48x15s

not to sure what it is it came with the tank, it sort of reminds me of low sideboard or maybe a low book case. its hard to describe what it is.
i have got 2 other tanks sat on juwel stands & i've gota sy i do like them plenty of room for fishy stuff & my crap lol
