new 3ft tank size suggestion

I'm looking at upgrading my current setup, but can only really manage 36" wide. I wanted to get as much volume as poss so am looking at having a custom tank made. Any dimension suggestions that go well together? The guy at the LFS recommended 36x24x24, but i though it might look a bit odd being the same size high as deep. Any thoughts?

Don't see anything wrong with those dimensions. Only one point, unless you're a giant or have super-long arms, if you stand the tank against a wall you won't be able to reach the bottom middle of the back of the tank.

That's a good size to me.

My tank is 18" tall and wide and it looks fine.

Should give you about 90 gallons (US) to play with.

Thanks for the responses. I'm 6'5" so hopefully reaching the back of the tank should be ok.

my tank is 2' wide by 2' tall and looks fine, and at 6'5" you should have no problems cleaning it

I've got a 33 gal which is 36x12x18 it's a nice small tank perferect for small schooling fish I'm not into depth myself my next upgrade I want at least 48inchs or more ma ha ha
