im getting a tall 30 gallon hex I wanted to make an amazon biotope (drift wood, sword plants etc)

for stocking i was thinking
.an angelfish (if it won't get too big)
.a pair of blue rams (1 if there's not enough room, none if a single one will get lonley, depressed etc)
.a small school of hatchetfish (i think they're cute but i also know they're native to the amazon)
.another small school of neon tetras (as long as the anglefish won't eat them)

I was also wondering what plants I should have. I'm looking for plants that require little care and that do well under most conditions (this is my first planted tank)

I'm only trying to see if this will work out before i do my research (for the plants and fish)

also what about a clean-up crew do i need one?

The tall tank should keep the angels happy, but I'd ditch the neons and go for cardinals (because angels eat neons, and cardinals get big enough that it doesn't happen(i read that on another forum, but you can google it for more info))

I did read cardinals were a better choice

I also found out that bolivian rams are easier to care for than the blue variety so i think i'll get a pair of those, but I don't want them to mate because I don't have the room ,what should I do?

As for the anglefish I think it will be fine, the tank is taller but not by too much, it's at least a foot tall

what about schooling numbers? I was thinking 4-6 hatchetfish and around 10-15 cardinals

if the tank is only a foot tall, then it's not really suited for angels. These CAN get to be around 10" tall, fin to fin, so need the horizontal swimming space. However, not all of them will reach that size.

I said the tank was at least a foot tall it's taller than a foot

I'll definately do more research on them before I get any
