Hi, I have just purchased my second tank, this is a small step up from my 15 gallon juwel rekord 70. I am a big fan of tropical fishes. I really like the look of red tailed black sharks and was thinking of getting a couple of them with maybe a couple of bristlenoses. I was wondering whether the sharks would be ok with having a group of neons around? Any other suggestions welcome, especially if you have a tank of similar size. Cheers
:D

Hi,

How big is your new tank? RTBS should be kept as a single fish as they are agressive, they would be ok with neons as neons swim at different levels of the tank but they can be aggressive with other bottom dwellers. Get a pair of male and female bristlenoses or 2 females as males can fight if they don't have enough room to set up their territory.

edit: just noticed its a 22 gal one RTBS should be ok but they grow 6 inches so its limiting other bottom dwellers, personally i'd get a group or corys or khuli loaches instead.

Emma :)
