This is probably a silly question but having started up various tanks, I've always gone the fishless cycling way. However, this time having seeded my new fluval 2 filter completely with old media i've read on here that you can add fish straight away. Now is that the same day? Obviously the water temp has to be right.

Yep, straight away or the lack of ammonia will cause the good bacteria to die off. You *should* be able to stock with the same amount of fish that the filter media was supporting before - personally I'd err on the side of caution and put slightly fewer in, then add more after a week, but that's just me!

I add fish one week or so after a fishless cycle. And usually r hardy fish swordtail/feeder rgith now I still have 3 x feeders left from last cycle .
