i got a new community tank for my personal use and i need some new fishies to start a community. the tank is 20gal. i have my bettas in there for now but they need friends or i can take them out to start a better community. i was planning on gettin some black neons and some serpaes to add in the near future. I still have my guppy tank too so those are excluded from the "fish to add" list. let me know if any of u have any suggestions or opinions. =D

Hello :D

What bettas do you have? I've had bettas and found that all of my males have to live a solitary existence in their own tanks so that they don't eat other fish or get nibbled themselves. Others have sucess in keeping a single male in a community, but the golden rule is never more than one male in a tank as they'll fight.
My girls (all three of them) live happily together in peace and harmony.

Black neon tetra are really nice fish :D I'm a fan of tetras so I'm probably biased, but rummy nose tetra are lovely, as are cardinals. They all need to be in a shoal of 6 or more to be content :D

Have a look at my siggy...there's an example of what fish I have in my tanks.

I have 3 betta HM females swimming around in the tank at the moment. I'll have pics up soon. I've isolated my males of course. I went to my LFS today and saw some cardinals. I want some of those for sure!! I think i might join you in being a fan of tetras Jenny.

Cardinals are lovely...they're a touch more hardy than neons but I'd not want to put them in a brand newly cycled tank as they still like a slightly more mature set up.

Have you thought about the many danios you can get as well? I have several types and all of them are stunning. The hikarit and kyathit danios are so colourful...like opals :D Hi fin danios are sooooo pretty :D

I could go on and on and on and on but you'd get bored

lol are u kidding? i love fish! i don't think i'd ever get bored of hearing stories or talking about fish. but do u know if gouramis go good with tetras? i saw a powder blue gourami at my LFS and was thinking about getting one. they look pretty awesome too!

Here's a picture of one of my females. I'll have more as soon as i get new batteries for my digi cam

do u think black phantoms would be a good add to my community. I saw them when i got my gourami and they looked pretty cool. Have u had any nipping problems with the phantoms?
