New 125-150g Tank

I may install a 125G or 150G Tank in a room addition we are building this summer.

Both my wife and I really enjoy corys and tetras (We have them in our 37G tank)

I would like to set up a Amazon Tank with several large schools of Tetras and Corys (use what we have and add more).

What other South American fish could we add? I was thinking of plecos or dwarf cichilds but it would be nice to have some larger fish to showcase the tank. I like the look of Discus but am afraid that their needs do not match the corys and tetras very well.

id go with severums, and an acara maybe. the cories will be fine with the severums and im not sure about tetras though

Get some BIG catfish!!!

You could get several cracking 12"-18" specimens in that tank!! I would love to make a South American tank in taht tank of yours, full of my favourite tetras, catfish and corys!!

Things like angels, german rams, various tetra species, hatchets, pencil fish, plecos, and corys. If you want to bend the South American theme a little, any synodontis cat would do quite well. As for South American chiclids, aside from the rams and angels (angels may be a risky option though) I dont think you could house any chiclids.

Cardinals, rummynose tetra, certain corys are all from the same region, i had a shole of bronze corys and rummynose tetras in with my discus.
