i just picked up a used 100 gallon tank yesterday evening, to move my community fish over from my 55 into. :D theres a couple of chips on the outside corners on the base (but no cracks), and the guy who sold it says theyve been there some time without any problems so hopefully should be ok - i might silicone in some glass on the inside as reinforcing patches just in case though i think, as i wouldnt like to mop up a 100 gallon puddle. I was just really wondering what otehr people with tanks around this size used in the way of lighting/heating/filtration?
i was intending to use 2, 48" tubes, 2, 200w heaters and a 300gph external and 250gph internal filter, any thoughts on this setup?

I have a 100 gallon glass tank also. I use two aquaclear 500 filters ,two 150 watt visetherm heaters, and just two 20 watt, 30 inch tubes. Tank works wonderfully. The ac-500 are rated at 500 gph. Lighting ok for me cause its a non planted south american cichlid tank. I have additional lighting but find its not really needed for my setup.

I don't know if chipped glass is a problem or not? I think you'll be aright with your equiptment though.
