To my supprise this morning I saw a fry just 1 when all the other fish were in the corner where the food goes in, It was swimming round eating flacks that fell to the bottom. He or she's about 5mm long with a white/seethrough boby and a red head. Now I'm pritty sure that it's form by platies coz one was carring a brood but i think the gori's had 'em all. As this one have suvived I'm going to try and get it into a fry net but how do i go about it? I think it lives in the gravel around the bottom of a javer furn. I was thinking that I take out the other fish and then sture up the gravel till it comes out but what if i crush it? god only knows how i haven't gravel vac'ed it befor now? But then if he's lasted that long the he's got to be tough little sone of a b****??? so should i leave him to battel it out in there with the others?

It's up to you whether you want to move him or let him be. I personally think, if he's survived this long, and has find a way to hide and eat, he'll be okay. That's just natural. If you want to raise him, the best way to get him would be to just net him when you see him eating. Don't take all the fish out and stir up the gravel, as that will really stress him, and probably the other fish out. :)

Thanks Annastasia for the advice I'll wait and see I think. Just worried that he'll get eaten! If i see him out then might try and net him but he's a fast little fu**er!

Haha, aren't they all. I've had to take EVERYTHING out of tanks to catch fry. :p Mostly I just let them be, though. I think your's will be fine, as he's figured out how to eat and how to hide, and he'll just get smarter.
