Please an you tell me which is best the net or the trap. I have 4 female guppys and 2 males, I believe the females are already pregnant due to them all have the gravid spot. I also have 5 female mollies and one male.

Becks

nets allow the mother to trap fry and eat them but u get a better flow of water.

Traps allow the fry to get away safely, but their is usualy little flow of water and can soon suffer if their are to many fry for long periods of time.

I like to use a separate tank myself but if you have to use one then I'd say use a net and float some fake or real plants in it.

depends, traps are ok for guppies or platies, if the devider is removed (no way would 2 females fit in) and it saves the fry, like helterskelter said, too many fry might cause problems. usally if using a trap, remove the female then all deviders and let the fry have the whole trap to them selves. with a net, gives the mother more room, but the frys life in their with her. provide fake plants for the fry to hide, and remove ther females ASAP and most should survive. or a better idea i think, let the mother have her fry in the tank, providing lots of hide aways and some fry will survive.you can always catch some and transfer then to the net or trap later.

or another way possibly let her have fry in a breeding trap, if she has a large brood once they are swimming about fine you could half them and have some in the net trap to

I would say that the trap is best because the fry get separated. This is good to use if you're not going to be home very often when they are born. However, if you put her in too early, she could abort the fry...It's best just to let her give birth in the main tank and catch them later. Sometimes, that's what ends up happening even if you're prepared. I'd plan on her giving birth unexpectedly in the tank rather than the trap.
