Quick question...i found a listing on eBay for 6 snails, 2 zebra, 2 tiger and 2 horned. If I was to purchase these, would I need to quarantine them first like a fish or just add to tank? Thanks!!

I personally would just add one of each.  My guess is that they are all different verities of nerites and as a result will not bread and lay egs all over the aquarium.

Before adding nerites you need to think about what you are going to feed them, Most nerites starve to death in tanks because they wont eat algae wafers. Mystery snails are a better option as they eat just about anything.

I have found that they do eat Hikari tropical algae wafers  and  Omega one super Veggie green seaweed strips  and even carrots.  However most of the time I don't feed them because they are getting enough biofilm and algaae off of the aquarium glass.

I had 2 that died, I guess my tank couldn't support their dietary needs, I have never tried Hikari tropical algae wafers, But I did feed Carrot Etc, My shrimp breed faster than pest snails in the same tank, And my Mystery snails are huge.

For me personally Mystery snails are a better option, If you dont want them to breed just remove the egg sack that they make above the water line

I know they are just different types of nerite, though the horned is smaller. I have 2 in my 10 gallon and 3 in my five gallon already, all of the horned variety. I've never fed any of mine and my tanks are nice and clean. I was just thinking of these since I have a buildup of algae in the 20 gallon. Might do these instead of a bristlenose and save that for my big tank. I do love the nerites. They don't breed. I don't mind getting eggs off of glass. They are cool little creatures even though they look a bit alien...lol. I just wanted to make sure they wouldn't carry anything to the tank that could harm my fish. I didn't know if things could be transferred through the snails that way. (Cruiser and Ramsey are both just over a year old as well and still doing great!!)
