Found some Nerite Snail eggs in the fish tank this morning.

The snails themselves arrived on the 14th January.

I know they won't have which is a relief.

Oddly enough they are as fun to watch as what the fish are.

Presumably a sign of a healthy tank.

I've wanted to have some larger snails, and tried several, including nerites I was getting tired of the eggs around the tank... but the larger snails haven't seemed to thrive well in my tanks, and I don't notice they died, until I see empty shells ( dead snails probably are not good for the aquarium... I assume the fish eat them, as I've never noticed a big pile of slimy goo, by a shell... this has made me appreciate the pest snails more, now that I've gotten there numbers manageable, they are every bit as active, and seem to thrive in my tanks, and are much smaller, and as thus pollute my water less, when they die... of coarse the hard part is keeping their numbers manageable... I still only have one or two visible at a time, in my hillstream tank, for several months now... I think too much competition for the same foods...
when I had live nerites... I particularly liked the zebras, I still have an empty shell or two, that still catch my eye once in a while... Mystery, and rabbit snails seemed to last a little longer than the nerites did, in my tanks...

One of the Nerites @Essjay identified ss horned I nicknamed Speedy as he moves about rather quickly.
