I don't believe they are asexual, due to my limited personal experiences with them. I currently have two olive nerites in fresh water;
I always see my two nerite snails "riding" each other around the tank, the small one always on top of the bigger one's shell. Eventually they'll stop moving for a couple of hours and sort of touch their gooey parts together

. When I got the two, they were both the size of a small pea, but now one is the size of an average pea and the other the size of a garbanzo bean. I'm guessing the larger one is the female and the one that stayed small is the male, but I'm completely guessing. They do look like they are mating though so I'm supposing they have to sexually reproduce, at least to get viable eggs.
If you only have one (female) snail, it still might produce "empty" eggs, similar to how chickens still lay eggs without a rooster.
Good luck!
