yes they should be fine. however neons have been made notoriously weak by inbreeding, have a very close look at the tank your buying them from first and make sure there's no signs of illness or disease, also make sure your water conditions are spot on

or try cardinals they are very similar to neons but not as prone to illnesses or weakness
