I purchased 6 neons the other day from my lfs and noticed one was mssing some of it's colour when placed into my tank. I purchased some treatment and added to tank accordingley. The thing is it seems like I have obtained the disease from the LFS as I have no other tetras in the tank at all and I am thinking that it must have come from somewhere!!

I have one more day of treatment left but it is not looking good for the remaining fish as they all look a bit ropey!! I am pretty sure that this disease is of no danger to my platies, peckoltia or pentezona barbs, is that correct? :/

I am also unsure whether to let these fish die naturally or simply cut my losses and dispose of them as humanely as possible, what is your opinion? I would also like to know whther you would leave this shop well alone in the future or should I just put it down as a bit of bad luck. The owner has helped me so much in teh set-up of my tank and seems a very honest guy with the fishes well being at heart but I don't know what decision to take?

Don't frag em just yet. I've almost got rid of neons in my tank that looked like they were going to die, but somehow came back and are still here now. They might just be stressed out .....

If your tetras are still without colour after several days then it could be something to worry about. I would suggest you keep them in a separate 'quarantine' tank, (or bucket) and watch them. This way you can add medications without effecting your existing fish.

Try askingthe LFS owner - he sounds like he would be helpful and know wether the other neon's he stocks are similarly affected.
I'd not be too quick to euthanise - it could well be the stress of the move + medication, they may pull through in time. If you can quatantine them, then do, but otherwise complete the course of treatment, keep an eye on them and see what happens a day or two after the treatment is complete.
