i have a well mature biorb which will be losting it's inhabitants into my new tank soon. However i like my biorb, so i plan on keeping it as a second tank and putting a load of neons in it so it looks pretty! Any idea how many i can fit in there? I was thinking 20 ish?

Neons need swimming space and a 30L biorb wouldn't be able to provide this. I'm not sure what the minimum tank size for neons is considered to be (hopefully someone more experienced will come along and tell you) but I really think a 30L biorb is too small and the wrong shape for neons. And 20 would be overstocked for sure.

i've had a shoal of 8 neons for over a year in it and they've always seemed happy enough

they may seem happy but i wouldn't put neons in anythink less than 10 gal others will say 15 gal, maybe make it a shrimp tank

With biorbs/ubes you'll be looking at a stock adult fish size of 1cm of fish to 1 litre of water and no more really. I've got 3 biorbs and 1 of them has a small shoal of cardinals in. :D
