i have a 29 gal tank and have 2 black neons, one penguin tetra, one pleco, and just bought a stripped raphael. the guy at the pet store told me the raphael was peacefull, but a lot of sites say he may eat smaller fish. do you think my neons are safe, or do i move them out?
thanks for any info, jason

if they fit in his mouth its quite possible they will end up eaten. what type of plec have you got ? as i dont think your tank is gonna be big enough

common pleco. i have a 55 gal, it's just not up and running yet.

Striped raphaels (Platydoras costatus) are not out and out hunters like the Pimelodids, but they will cruise the bottom at night and anything that fits in the mouth will get eaten.

However, they do have a very slow growth rate, taking years rather than months to get to 6".

yup if they're small enough to get in it's mouth they might well get eaten
