neons tetra yes? with small angels yes but not with adults angelfishes wild diet are neons.

:good:

it all depends on the angelfish.

i have 16 neons in with 2 angels and they werent even small angels when they went in with the neons and theyve been fine.

i have a friend who lost his 4 neons to his big angel tho.

if you get the neons a medium size and small angels then you should be ok cos if they grow up with them u stand more chance!

I agree with SamUK. Also it's said that if an Angel grows up with a group Neons then when it is physically able to eat them, it wont.

Any fish that can fit in an angel's mouth will eventually be looked at as food, and angels can open their mouths larger than you think. They may get along as they grow, the aggression from pairing, along with the natural instinct to condition themselves before breeding may lead to some missing neons in the future.

yea i have seen some very nice tanks with bith neon /cardinal tetras with angels, The problem will be when they start getting older. if you want to add more tetras in the future its hard to find tetras for sale that are around a year old. meaning being fullish size.
You may want to think abour having Neons / cardinal / black striped tetras then when they start dieing off and the angels are larger you may want to thin about flame tetras or the larger tetra breads.

i cant believe im about to argue with the angel king but here goes lol.....

you really think thats with every angel? mine are full grown and still dont show any interest and theres loads of tetras and small fish that could easily fit in there mouth in my tank.

they have spawned about 4 times now too and still didnt bother them. they were more fussed about the big fish.

a friends angel fish is the same and his neons are tiny as he jus got them, well, over a month ago now.

Can & may nothing is the same with every angel, as angels all have individual personalities. I have heard of folks keeping smaller fish such as neons with pairs of angels, usually they start out as juvie angels with neons, and the angels don't realize the size they have grown to, and what they are capable of. This is the best way, if you want to try it. Also, make sure the angels are well fed, the less they think about food, the less the chance the smaller fish will be looked at as food.

I have a pair I am reasonably sure that if I put in a few neons they wouldn't bother them. I have another pair that I am sure would eat them as soon as possible, especially the male. I've had to put background on the sides of that tank when any fry are in tanks next to it. He bashes himself stupid trying to get to them. Fish are very basic animals, with 2 things on their mind, food & reproduction. Some act on these instincts more than others, I have several koi that I really wish would start acting on the reproduction instinct already.

I'm not saying it won't work, sometimes it does, many times it doesn't. If you don't mind the possibility of losing some neons as feeders, give it a shot. Some people flip about loosing neons, others really don't care. I'd hate to say go for it, then that person tries it, and loses some fish they really like.
