hi, as the title says one of my neons has got a white furry mouth it looks like, iv got 6 of them and thats the only one with it, also iv treated my tank for fin rot about twice and it seem they all still have white tips to there fins plus it looks like one of there smalest fins underneath them has nearly all but gone

200litre tank, internal filter and external filter runnin for about 3month
ammonia - 0
nitrite - 0
nitrate - 10

i also have 5 corys, 1 krib and 3 swordtails they all look to be healthy

Are any fish nipping there fins.

Fluffy mouth is flexibactor columnaris.
Meds in the uk myxazin by waterlife and pimafix.
Is the mouth rotting away.

What med have you been using for the finrot.

the krib has the occasional chase but iv never seen her catch any, iv used esha 2000 i think is called it says it treats mouth rot, iv stuck another dose in a few hours ago to help it if it can until i can get to the lfs, iv only noticed it today and it doesnt look like any of it has rotted just acotton wool lookin think on its upper lip

all so i was wonderin in my internal filter think its called a fluval 4, it has black retangle sponges just before the white sponges, do these need takin out or does it not matter

The black sponge sounds like the black carbon sponge so remove it.

Let me know how you get on with the esha 2000 as it dosn't always work on columnaris.
