Neon Tetras

bought 5 neon tetras 2 weeks ago 1 left why is that all water levels ok

Neon tetras are very sensitive; is your tank cycled, and did you acclimate the first ones properly?

A tiny change in water will absolutely *KILL* these fish. I have had the same problems; they are *VERY* sensitive fish and don't react well to sudden water quality changes.

When you say your water levels are okay...can you be more specific? Have you tested the levels of ammonia, nitrate and nitrite? Temp? Ph? I've heard others characterize neons as being *VERY* sensitive, but i haven't had any problems w/mine in the year and a half that i've had them. I think if 3 out of five are dead in one week, you either bought sick fish or there is something wrong w/your tank.

meh i bought 10 neon tetras and 4 of them died and the other 6 are 100% fine... some make it some dont...
