I noticed one of my neons swimming a little to its side since yesterday and just noticed now that it only has one eye. I don't know how it lost the eye buy is there anything I should do apart from keeping the water clean? It seems active enough at the moment.

Keep an eye on the betta. And from the distance, where he/she cannot see you.

I will. He's my prime susect at the moment. He seems more interested in him own reflection than the other fish but I'll keep spying on him.

Usually at night time / evening. And best supervised with a camera as you can see what's going on without the fish being cautious when you are around.

I've been doing a lot of spying and the betta hasn't done anything naughty that I can see but I've noticed a couple of neons being quite aggressive toward some of the other neons. This could be it.

I don't know if neons have much power in their jaws though. At least not the ones I've had. They looked so fragile as if they are made of glass and had a tiny mouth. o_O
But try to separate the nippy ones and see if the problems keep arising. (if you have a spare tank that is).
