Earlier today my neon tetra all looked fine. I just went to feed my fish five minutes ago, and all of the neons were really faded, and one of their tail fin's had been nipped, or eaten, or damaged in some way. Could they be starving? I feed them everyday, but I don't always see the tetra come up and eat the food from the surface. Please help!!!!

Possibly Neon Tetra disease. Causes the colors of tetra to fade, and slowly their skin becomes replaced with white infected tissue. Spores from the protozoan build up in muscle tissue causing the skin to become whiter and the buildups are visible to the naked eye. Attempt to treat with anti-parasiting meds, it's fatal if untreated and can spread to charcins and cichlids fairly easily, possibly through scavanging dead fish or eating feces from an infected fish.

Ok, for some reason they seem to have brightened up again, but I am still worried about that one neon's tail. Its hiding behind a plant, and I still don't know what to do with an injured fish. I don't even know what caused it.

He will likely be fine. Watch it, if it gets worse, isolate him in a nother tank, or at the least, a breeding net.

Neons can fade in colour when there a sleep did you just put the tank lights on.
Need to look at your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
What other fish do you keep in the tank.

Sorry its in your sig didn't notice that.
Need to look at your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph,
Finrot can be a secondary infection meaning something else it going off.
Any lumps on the belly of the neons that go to a point.
Any black edging to the red stripe.
