Hello, i have a 20 gal with 5 neon tetra, 5 harlequin rasbora and 3 zebra danios. I do regular water changes, every week or 2 i change about 10-30% water and vacuum gravel. I live in phoenix, so we have very hard water and ph is high, like around 8. All water parameters are normal, tank is a year old.

One of my neons has a weird looking eye. Instead of being black, it looks silver. I noticed this 2 days ago. I just changed water tonight. Neon is eating normally, but is speding time alone away from his other 4 friends. I have never seen this before and not sure if it is an injury or infection. Any ideas??

Could be cloudy eye, it is usually due to poor water conditions. If it is cloudy eye, it can usually be cleared within 2-3 weeks using just pristine tank water.

Ironically.... I currently also have a neon with an eye condition at the moment, just a small dot in the middle of the black (possibly cloudy eye but can't be sure) and I know my water is clean.

Anyhow... a fish with cloudy eye can also be lethargic and hover.
