I think i have it, well my neons!

I have about x13 neons, brief info

- no new additions to tank in atleast 2-months, probably closer to 3
- no other issues in tank or unexplained deaths or sick looking fish
- water readings always 0 Ammonia and 0 Nitrite

Last night i noticed one neon had a small beige "patch" and i thought it was fungus, but when i looked closer it was definitly a patch where it had simply lost its colouring.

I can see x3 neons like this. No other fish has it

After hitting Google, i have come to the conclusion that's it's probably neon tetra disease

I added some Protozin as it says for "neon tetra disease"

Further reading on Google says it's basically un-treatable though?

What shall i do?

Shall i take the x3 affected neon's out and cancel their ticket?

Right now i'd settle for losing all my neons as long as no other fish get affected and then maybe replace with a big shoal of cardinals who i understand are much less prone to this.

Going off of what I've just experienced (Read my other thread on this) I'd take them all out just to be on the safe side.

However see what other people say as I'm more than a little upset after losing most of my stock, with the rest not looking good.

i've replied to your thread

I am going to remove these three neons and put them in a little 10" plastic tank i have, heater and small mature internal and see how the illness progresses as it might help me with a diagnosis.

does anyone knnow how long it takes for NTD to run it's course? I cant find this on Google

I am not assuming 100% i have NTD, but obviously its under strong consideration

There no cure for ntd, that waterlife med is not being truthful with the owner as there no cure for ntd.
You can get false ntd which is saddleback columnaris, you will have fluffy patches that go along the back and down the sides to form a saddle shape on the fish.
Ive had ntd and lost the whole tank mine started off as bleach out patches on the tail region.
Signs of ntd are
Leaving the shoal.
Being restless.
Red stripe is bleached out, can also look a creamy colour.
Blue area can go brown.
Lumps on the belly that go to a point.
Black liniing around the red stripe.
Bent spine.
Swimming oddly.
Also they can show signs in later stages of popeye, and dropsy.
