I noticed this afternoon my little leleupi's mouth has dropped. Instead of the top lip being folded upwards its out at full stretch and it appears he/she cannot get it back again. I have no idea what is going on or if there is any way I can help it.

Any suggestions welcome :)

Has the jaw been dislocated?
Also check there no rotting in progress.
Can you post a pic star4.

No rotting, fungus etc, its possible its a dislocation but from the top lip rather than the bottom, the fish is feeding fine. I am tempted to try and catch it and see if I can manipulate it back into place, but its such a small fish.

I will try and get a picture if hubby can fix my laptop, its not recognising my camera :( and he keep moaning about me filling his PC with pics of fish lol

OK. I thought you was male.LOL.

Has the fish been locking mouths?

What ever happened it is partially back to normal this morning. I have never seen it lip locking with any of the other fish, but it is a possibility. :)

That's good news. Panic over.
Thanks star4 for the update.

Has the cichlid mouth gone back to normal now?

Not fully :(, it is eating fine and acting normally no signs of any fluff or fungus no redness, swelling or anything to be too alarmed about, just keeping an eye on it.

Thanks for the update.
