Today I went to my LFS and saw some Neolamprologus brichardi in the Rift Lake tanks, the label said they are only semi-aggresive. I am wondering if I can keep 1 or 2 of them with Silvertip Tetras, Angelfish, Cryptoheros Cutteri, Marbled Hatchets, Emperor Tetras, Bristlenose, Corydoras Julii, SFF, Black Phantom Tetras, Corydoras Ambiacus, Otocinclus. The Neolamprologus brichardi are currently only about 1/2" in size and I would grow them up in my fry tank until they are 2" or so. My tap water is 7.2-7.4 pH and very hard. My dad has had experience with one in his Rift Lake tank 20 or so years ago and says that his was very peaceful and didn't take notice of any of the other fish - and they didn't take notice of it.

Should I give them a go or just not bother?

Thanks,

from what ive read, generally if they start breeding they are gonna get very aggressive so its advised there kept species only.

You might get away with keeping 1. But any more than that and they will start getting aggressive.

Another thing to consider is that the Neo like hard alkaline water.

As said, yes the water in my area is pH7.2-7.4 and is very hard. I really was only considering keeping 1 unless 100% that 2+ would cause no trouble - which it looks like they do.
