I was filling a giant (1' x 1') that my neolampologist brichardi have dug in 2 days as there is a wall in the tank i made out of rocks and they had dug to the base and i was worried of it falling over as they have only doog from one side. I lifted a rock and unerneath there where about 40 teag green coloured eggs on the rock so i moved the rock, filled the hole that i was half filling when i saw the eggs then placed the rock back and placed the 2 slates that where on top of the rock and bogwood bacl on top. They where still there this morning and the pair are garding them still so im pleased my disturbance hasnt made the pair neglect them :) How long will it take for them to hatch? Thanks, Joemuz

Awesome! :good: Not sure how long it will take them to hatch, but just wanted to say congrats.

Very cool! Can you post some pix of the parents and/or the eggs?

Erm some very sad news.......when i weent back to mine last night (currently at my grandparents while my parents are in ireland) i discovered the paire had eaten most of the eggs butim shue they will breed again :( I will post some pics when i get a new camera next .month if they breed near then :) I hope they will. Sorry about that guys what a build up for me.
Cheers, Joemuz

No worrys, they'll get the hang of it after awhile. It's not unusual for that to happen, most often it's just inexperience, but they'll also eat them if none got fertilized.

Right change of plan, i see babies :)
I saw a few fish with the egg sacks on them yesterday evening after the female went under a slate i never knew she had dug out.
Then when she accidently brought 1 or 2 fry back out with her she soon caught them in her mouth and put them back under the slate.
I will keep this thread updated. Thanks, Joemuz

Awesome, I've got a yellow labs that's ready to spit anyday. Fry are so exciting. :good:
