um yeah, today i woke up and looked at my needlsnose and it had a bunch of bubbles on it . well, to be more specific there was a group of bubbles in the shape of a cone on the side of the fish next to its dorsal fin. every now and then it seems to shake as if trying to get the buddles of. i do not know if something is wrong with the fish or what so im coming here to hopefully get some answers.

- thank you, and much appreciated

Been trying to do some research on breeding gar but can't find much info on it.
Are they definately bubbles or could they be eggs?

they are clear so im almsot certain they're bubbles. and since we are oin the suject of eggs and breeding, do you know how to sex needlenose??

Oh... Could be gas-bubble disease :( are there bubbles on other surfaces in the tank, does the fish appear lethargic?
Try agitating the water alot in the short term until you can do some further research....

so, the bubbles were only on the needlefish. and it wasnt lethargic. anyways the bubbles are gone now and the needlefish seems to be back to normal

That was my thought. Gas Bubble Disease, it can occur when there is not enough room for gas exchange at the top of the tank. Be sure to perfrom water changes accordingly and have plenty of aeration.

Glad to hear things are better though! :good:
