Is it ok for a DIY co2 bottle to be lower than the tank level or is this dangerous and you should get some sort of check valve, if so would a check valve that you use for an air pump be ok?

Thanks

Austin

Ok thanks, it's dangerous because the same thing can happen with an airpump correct? And so if I used the check valve I'll be ok, good that's good. Thanks

Is only dangerous with an air pump cos electricity is involved. if the water did flow back into the CO2 tube all it do is fill the bottle with water, thats no big deal really, but most people use a check value just to make sure and to stop the whole tank emptying onto the floor!

Yup that's what I thought, thanks. About diffusing the CO2 would it be good to allign your diffuser up right under you floating hornwort that way the bubble will break up by them once it eventually reaches the surface?

I wouldnt think it would matter the diffuser does all the work for you, and I think the hornwort would jsut get push aside rather than breaking the bubble up.
