This is for all those budding David Baileys out there --

My brackish book is due out soon, but there are still some gaps where I need some additional photographs. Basically I need to to buy photographs of brackish water fish and aquaria. Anyone who'd like to make a bit of money can e-mail me or PM me and I'll fill them in on the details. Last time I checked, the going rate was $20 a shot, so the more pictures you have, the better!

Among the species we need additional pictures of are things like violet gobies, puffers, and archers. Really pretty much everything -- my publisher wants to buy in more pictures than they actually need to that they can be flexible with their layout.

The key thing is quality -- digital images need to be large and high-resolution, at least 300 dpi.

One type of picture that would be especially valuable are nice shots of set up brackish water aquaria.

Besides a few extra bucks to go towards your fishkeeping expenses, all pictures will be formally acknowledged in the book.

Cheers,

Neale

I just checked through my pictures and there's nothing that would be worthy of being printed in a book, my camera is very basic and just doesnt provide that kind of quality. If you get stuck i can provide some lesser quality photos of things like the Polynemus and Takifugu that i had which might be able to be cleaned up by someone with a bit of skill with photoshop, let me know.

I'll see what I can do, I have a GSP and some really nice archers. I'll take some shots. Where do they need to go? E-mail to you or to your publisher or what? Sounds like a great opportunity.

my buddy has some great shots of his violet goby and GSP's....I will be setting my tank up for brackish this week, and might be getting fig 8's before your deadline.

Cool. Contact me by personal message and I'll send along details on how to submit previews and then sell your pictures to out publisher.

Cheers,

Neale

I'll try to get some action shots of my archers today. My new camera is pretty fast, not sure if it will be fast enough though. I'll also get some photos of my tank... too bad my new one isn't finished yet.

Dave --

To be honest, some of those "work in progress" shots would be very useful. Send me a PM for the details on how to sell them to the publishers. The images need to be sent to the editor rather than me, and he buys them directly from you.

Cheers,

Neale
