Need Some Tips Pls About The Girls

so i've had a sorority a few months now and successfully been adding more girls to it along the way with no problems, apart from the odd fin tear from scraps and bitching but no actual fighting

i very recently added some new girls, within a week, one of their anal fins had disappeared and she died (i removed her, treated her AND the tank) but since she died a couple more of the previous very healthy girls have got either clamped fins or some fin rotting (although not blackened edges, it's white), so i am doing the 7 days melafix treatment. those who are not affected are perfect and i am considering removing all the healthy girls to another tank and carry on treating the others, though worried to do this in case they take anything with them to the other tank which has other girls in

so what would you do? even though those with problems are eating, swimming, not outwardly affected by this, it's still a concern. i can't do a water change until i've finished treating the tank on tuesday

just carry on with what your doing and dont move the healthy ones as finrot can hold a bacteria that can spread easily as there is 2 types of finrot one caused by bacteria and one caused from lack of care, they obviously have the one with the bacteria due to the others fin clamping so keep them together and treat as one. you can do daily water changes with melafix, just remember when you do a large (75%) water change you will need to add the melafix again.
