Need Some Serious Advice

Yeah point, although with tank size just go with the biggest size discussed and you can't go wrong :)

Those Texas get large, at 12" when fully grown...make sure the tank you get have a good sized footprint, i.e. depth and width more important than height...

You cannot put a texas pair with other fish, they are very aggressive when spawning. Personally you would be better selling/re-homing the female if you want to add other fish as she will still spawn on her own. But if you want to keep just the pair then 100g would be sufficient for them.

Thanks for the advice. :good: I wish i could keep them both, i feel bad getting rid of one and not the other, but i wont be able to keep up with their breeding. So your saying re-home the female and then i could put others with the male. What size tank would you recommend. I wish i could just neuter the frickin thing!

I just found a 6ft, 125G tank with two filters a heater and river gravel for 400 dollars! Just a quick question though, the seller said a "Penguin Emperor top-mounted polishing filter" and I'm not sure what that means and i could find anything on google.

Also what are some of my stocking options if i get rid of one texas, ill get you guys the PH soon?

I assume the texas were your first cichlids?

You know if i was in your shoes I would just start again, taking the fish you have to an LFS or other fish keeper, and then pick something a little smaller than will reach adult size fine in your tank...i.e. Rams, Apistos, Shelldwellers etc

Just my 2 pence...
